About Us
To provide a loving, lifetime home for animals with special needs

Happy Hearts was founded on the belief that even animals with special needs deserve a lifetime home that's loving, safe, free of abuse and neglect
and where they can receive proper veterinary care.
Our History and Mission
We are committed to educating the public regarding animals with
special medical conditions such as cats with FIV, Feline Leukemia and Diabetes. We also work to promote and strengthen spay and
neuter programs.
of central Illinois,
Happy Hearts is currently home to over 80 cats most of which are infected with FIV.
We also care for many cats with Leukemia and Diabetes.
Without Happy Hearts most of these animals would have died or been put down long ago.
Also enjoying sanctuary at the Haven are two relocated colonies of feral cats moved from a nearby community where
they were deemed a nuisance.  We support feral education, trap, neuter, and release practices as an alternative to euthanizing and those
individuals and organizations who care for and look after feral colonies.
Happy Hearts is supported through public donations and grants. Without the generous help and support of people like you we could not
offer the services we do to those who need it most.  We are staffed entirely by volunteers to whom we are ever grateful.
Thank You.
